DevCon has partnered with SMEDA to reduce poverty by creating the business opportunities for impoverished artisans of Farasi in Golarchi Taluka. Under this partnership DevCon, SMEDA, and CEAD – Centre of Excellence in Art & Design Jamshoro will work on product innovation inclusive of new designs, color combination, use of quality raw material and processing interventions in order to make this traditional product marketable at national and international level. In this pilot phase, ten artisans will be trained at the village level as Master Trainers to support the rest of artisans in quality product production. Each artisan/craftswoman will be able to produce a variety of modern and quality Faracies and other products based on the market demand.
